The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is the unified voice of the business community, aggressively advocating the business viewpoint in the shaping of public policy, encouraging ethical business practices and ensuring the state’s future as economically prosperous, educationally competitive and environmentally responsible.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is the grassroots voice of business which vigorously represents its diverse membership of more than 4,000 in the policy-making arenas of state government. As it constantly works to protect Georgia’s enviable pro-business environment, the Georgia Chamber remains mindful of its mission to keep the state economically prosperous, educationally competitive and environmentally responsible. Now in its 92nd year, the Georgia Chamber is noted for bringing the grassroots issues of its membership into the legislative process through the implementation of strong economic development partnerships such as the Red Carpet Tour and the Georgia Quail Hunt, the Georgia Chamber is a leader in creating positive growth for Georgia. The Georgia Corporation for Economic Development aids Georgia’s manufacturers by concentrating on the legislative needs of existing statewide firms as well as expanding and developing new markets.

The Georgia Chamber embodies affiliate organizations and partnerships such as DRUGS DON’T WORK, a statewide program which makes certification of a drug-free workplace a simple and cost effective procedure. The Council on Alcohol and Drugs is a substance abuse prevention and education agency that develops programs and materials based on the most current research on drug use and its impact on community. The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education works to put tomorrow’s workforce on a path to educational excellence, while Leadership Georgia annually brings diverse young leaders together to train and prepare for a more active role in Georgia’s future. The Georgia Self-Insurers Association, comprised of more than 300 firms, represents the interests of employers who self-insure workers’ compensation coverage of their employees. The Georgia Employers’ Association offers real management and HR solutions for businesses. The Military Affairs Coordinating Committee develops strategies to enhance business opportunities between the private sector and Georgia’s military community. The Tourism Development Alliance of Georgia seeks to unify the state's tourism and economic development efforts by encouraging collaboration between the local tourism offices and the many industries that benefit from greater tourism throughout the state.The Georgia Corporation for Economic Development is a public-private partnership that serves as a funding resource for the state’s economic development marketing programs.

Every year, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Eggs & Issues Breakfast marks the beginning of the Legislative Session for the Georgia General Assembly. The Annual Meeting brings the state’s top business and political leaders together to examine the state’s role of nationwide economic leadership. The Eggs & Issues Breakfast affords Georgia’s Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House and Senate President Pro Tempore the opportunity to outline the important issues facing the state legislature as the General Session opens.

Each summer, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce sponsors the popular Congressional Luncheon which enables Georgia’s U.S. Congressional delegation to meet with constituents face-to-face.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is the most dynamic and comprehensive business organization in Georgia and the recognized champion of the state’s marvelous pro-business environment in the halls of the state capitol.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce has pro-active committees within each department that allow members to network with other companies which have similar goals, and make real recommendations on policies and legislation. Government Affairs

The Government Affairs Council primarily consists of government affairs representatives whose companies are Georgia Chamber of Commerce members. The Council includes several committees: Education, Economic Development and Taxes, Environmental, Federal Affairs, General Business and Transportation, Healthcare, Judiciary and Worker's Comp and Labor.

Economic Development

The Economic Development Department has two State Host Committees for the Georgia Quail Hunt and the Red Carpet Tour. These committees are chosen through a nominations process in the summer before the upcoming events. There are time and financial commitments for each committee as well as membership requirements.

Communications

The Communications Committee of the GCC is the volunteer policy advisory arm for communications issues. The committee is chaired by Steve Smith, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

Membership Directory and Professional Services Guide

This directory of Georgia Chamber of Commerce members contains detailed information on more than 3,600 Georgia businesses. Each member company is listed in three categories: alphabetically, geographically and by business classification. The professional services guide is a section written in editorial format by member companies on their area of expertise. This guide will be an invaluable tool to small and medium size businesses. All directories are available to members at a significant savings over non-members.

Georgia Legislative Bulletin

This bulletin is published and posted on the Internet each week during the legislative session. Bulletins cover top business issues and brief descriptions of bills introduced or acted upon that week, to keep you up-to-date on the legislation that affects your business.

Networking With Georgia's Leaders

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce annually hosts a number of events providing an opportunity for members to meet and network with other members, the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Georgia's elected officials.

Annual Meeting

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting is held each January in conjunction with the opening of the annual session of the Georgia General Assembly. The Annual Meeting provides a networking opportunity for over 900 business and political leaders from across the state.

Eggs & Issues Breakfast

An annual January event featuring the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House. These three top government officials address Georgia's business community on issues such as education, economic development, the environment, workers' compensation and others facing the upcoming session of the General Assembly.

Congressional Luncheon

Sponsored by the Georgia Chamber, this annual event gives Georgia business leaders the opportunity to have one-on-one contact with their United States representatives in an informal luncheon setting that is held in different communities throughout the state.

Red Carpet Tour

Just as Spring unfolds its annual splendor in the most beautiful state in the South, the Georgia Chamber hosts the annual Red Carpet Tour. Every April, business executives from around the globe are invited to Georgia for a five-day event which showcases various regions of the state. The tour culminates in Augusta at the revered Master's Golf Tournament. Since 1988, the tour has initiated more than 71 expansions placed throughout Georgia and resulted in more than 23,000 new jobs and more than $3 billion in investments.

Georgia Quail Hunt

Another Georgia Chamber economic development initiative is the Georgia Quail Hunt. The program is co-sponsored by the Albany Chamber, the Southwest Georgia Chamber Council and Georgia Allies. This annual program uses Georgia's finest bird hunting venues as a backdrop for visiting executives. To date, this event has been largely responsible for attracting more than 26 companies, 13,500 jobs and $2.1 billion in investments.
