Meeting Georgia’s Water Needs
The passage of the 2008 statewide water plan by the Georgia General Assembly was a major step forward in guarding this critical natural resource and ensuring the state’s water future.
The Georgia Chamber was a key partner in this effort as well as the passage of the Water Stewardship Act of 2010, which was based on the work of the Chamber-led Water Contingency Planning Task Force and focused on new conservation and control measures.
As the implementation of these measures continues through the state Environmental Protection Division and the ten Regional Water Planning Councils, the Chamber will be watching the process closely to protect the interest of Georgia business.
