SB 488 - Allowing Foreign Nationals to Keep Their Drivers' Licenses Passes House Committee

Allowing foreign nationals to keep their drivers' licenses from their home country has been an issue raised to the Georgia Chamber of Commerce over the past few years by bi-national chambers of commerce during listening sessions we host to hear about legislative concerns around the state.  On Friday, March 28, the House Motor Vehicles committee unanimously passed this legislation in the form of SB 488. The International Trade Seminar will assist Georgia Businesses with Global Trade Opportunities and Strategies to increase profitability.

The purpose of the event, which is being organized by the International USA Chamber of Commerce www.iusacc.org, is to assist Georgia companies with International Trade opportunities and strategies. Featuring business leaders and experts such as George Israel, President and CEO from Georgia Chamber of Commerce; Lambros Kakissis, Greek Consul; Senator Curt Thompson; Craig Lesser, Chairman International Committee Georgia Chamber of Commerce; Dina Molaison, US Department of Commerce; Kathy Oxford from Georgia Department of Economic Development; Rick Martin from University of Georgia; Jorge Fernandez, V.P. Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and other distinguished members of the international business community.

The International Trade Seminar program is intended for businesses that understand the importance of international trade to the local economy. This is an essential event for companies interested in increasing profitability when approaching global markets as well as local networking.

IUCC works collaboratively with entities that support international trade, such as Georgia Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Department of Commerce, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and others.

The International Trade Seminar will take place at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. They have announced this event to their 4,000 members, creating a great networking opportunity to all participants. In addition, IUCC is inviting members of the Atlanta business community and sending a press release to the Atlanta media regarding this event for greater exposure.
