Policy committees add depth and expertise to the Georgia Chamber's ongoing advocacy of a pro-business agenda. They also add value to every member's investment.
Carefully structured to reflect the concerns of the Georgia business community, committee members and chairs are knowledgeable and experienced in the areas in which they serve. Policy committees function in a leadership role by educating and advising both the general membership and the Board of Directors as they confront the many challenging - and constantly changing - issues that face business.
Once established, policy positions become part of the Georgia Chamber's legislative and government affairs agenda and are aggressively defended, supported and pursued, often resulting in proposed legislation at the Georgia General Assembly or as recommendations to state regulatory agencies. Innovative and prescient, these committees are characterized by action, not talk, and have demonstrated a remarkable, almost intuitive, ability to craft and advocate meaningful pro-business policy positions and guide them to a favorable outcome.
