Are you interested in sustainability, but don’t know much about it? Have you been asked to lead the “green team” in your office, but lack the background? Are you looking to save some money by making your business and/or home more sustainable? This 8 week, on-line certificate program will provide you with both the background and the practical knowledge to actually improve sustainability and your bottom-line.
This course will introduce the conceptual background for several major areas of sustainability, discuss current issues, and provide knowledge with the goal of actually improving sustainability in your home and business. The course includes 5 modules: Intro to Sustainability, Water, Waste, Energy, and Green Building. Participants will view/listen to lectures and videos, engage in discussions, complete assignments, and take quizzes to learn the information and practice the skills presented in the course.
The course will be led by Lissa Leege, Ph.D. (view bio) who directs the Center for Sustainability at Georgia Southern University, where she is also a Professor of Biology. She developed the concept for this course with Thatcher Young, formerly of the Sustainability Division for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and contributed to each of the five modules.
