Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education Publishes Economics of Education Report

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the availability of the 2010 edition of Economics of Education, a report highlighting the vital link between quality educational opportunities and the success of Georgia's economy. Produced in collaboration with the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education (GPEE), a Georgia Chamber affiliate, the report emphasizes the importance of early learning, sustained academic achievement in every grade, and the critical transition to work or post-secondary education. The report includes timely observations and statistics - such as the fact that the unemployment rate for Georgians who did not finish high school was 14.6 percent in 2009, compared to 4.6 percent for Georgians with a bachelor's degree or higher. It also features suggestions for employers looking to make a difference in education in their own communities. An electronic copy of the report is available here; for hard copies, please contact Bill Maddox of GPEE at 404.223.2280 or bmaddox@gpee.org.
