Trauma Services in Georgia: Where Are We Now? Where Should We Go?
The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University will host a three-part series to address issues related to the state's trauma service crisis.
The first meeting will be held on June 3, 2008 - 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Subsequent meetings in July and September will explore the route to developing appropriate trauma services for Georgia and how to make it sustainable.
Physical trauma is the number one killer of Americans through the age of 44 and the third leading cause of death across all ages. The available appropriate trauma care in the state of Georgia is very limited among its rapid growing population. Georgia must take action in order to properly provide care for all people throughout the state.
