Education Reform Conference on December 3 to Focus on K-12 Accountability There's still time to register for the second annual Education Reform Conference on December 3. This year's event focuses on the timely issue of K-12 accountability and features nationally acclaimed speakers and groundbreaking education research. This event is co-hosted by the Georgia Chamber and Georgia College & State University.

Eggs & Issues Breakfast to Kick Off 2011 Legislative Session The Georgia Chamber's Eggs & Issues Breakfast, a yearly event that coincides with the start of the state legislative session, will be held on January 11, 2011, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Each year, this event brings together state business leaders and legislators for a hearty breakfast and the chance to hear from Georgia's top elected officials.
Governor-elect Nathan Deal, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, and Speaker of the House David Ralston are all scheduled to speak at this event.
The night before the breakfast, on January 10, the Georgia Chamber will host its Annual Meeting. Details for the evening will be announced soon - be sure to check the Georgia Chamber website for further information!

Panel Discussion on Savannah Harbor Expansion Project to be Held December 2 The Georgia Chamber has partnered with the Georgia Ports Authority to promote the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP), and will be participating an informative panel discussion regarding SHEP on Thursday, December 2 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
To complete the physical deepening of the Savannah River channel, the Savannah Ports will need approximately $600 million in both federal and state funding. The completion of this project is necessary for the Savannah Ports to remain competitive for cargo from the Panama Canal, which is on track to accommodate container ships up to 13,500 TEUs at the end of 2014.

Georgia Employers' Association to Host Update on Labor and Legal Issues The Georgia Employers' Association will host Preparing for 2011: From Compliance to Enforcement, Labor and Legal Issues That Can Impact You and Your Business on Tuesday, January 11. This event will be held immediately following the Eggs & Issues Breakfast at the Georgia World Congress Center.
