Georgia Chamber Commends Governor Deal

The Georgia Chamber Commends Governor Deal, General Assembly on Senate Bill 70

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce applauds Governor Nathan Deal and his administration for their dedicated efforts to ensure that Georgia’s hospitals have the financial assistance they need. With Governor Deal’s signature of Senate Bill 70 on Monday, Georgia’s healthcare network will be able to continue providing exceptional service to the citizens of our state.

With over 900 million dollars at risk for Georgia hospitals, the Chamber thanks members of the General Assembly for their willingness to reach a solution in an overwhelmingly bipartisan manner. Specifically, State Senator Butch Miller (R – Gainesville), and Representative Chuck Efstration (R – Dacula), should be commended for their hard work on this legislation.

Georgia Chamber CEO Chris Clark remarked on the passage of SB 70, “Keeping Georgia the number one state in which to do business begins with our citizens having access to affordable, quality healthcare, and Senate Bill 70 is a key piece of that equation. Thankfully, our state’s leaders realize the problems facing both rural and urban Georgia, and are willing to take action.”

Passage of SB 70 reaffirms Georgia’s commitment to addressing our state’s healthcare challenges. We thank Governor Deal and members of the General Assembly for their diligence on this measure, and look forward to working together with them throughout the 2017 legislative session.
