Georgians for Lawsuit Reform Hires Former Representative Hanson

Georgians for Lawsuit Reform (GLR), an affiliate of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the recent hire of former State Representative Meagan Hanson as Executive Director. Hanson brings a tremendous amount of skills and background needed to be effective as she leads the organization to great success.

“I am thrilled to join Georgians for Lawsuit Reform as Executive Director. With Georgia being the number one state to do business for so many years, we have to fight hard to keep the legal environment fair and balanced to make sure we continue to be a state where job creators want to grow their business. I look forward to working with GLR to make that happen,” said Hanson.

Hanson comes to GLR with experience as a former legislator and member of the House Judiciary Committee, a practicing lawyer with trade association experience, and with the political acumen to successfully navigate the Georgia State Capitol. With the forward direction of the organization, Hanson will provide great insight for the upcoming years.
GLR’s Chairman, Tye Darland, is honored to begin working with a highly respected and well-rounded individual. “We are very excited to have Meagan as our new Executive Director. Meagan was a champion of GLR while she served in the Georgia legislature, and she is very knowledgeable on the issues Georgia businesses face in creating a level playing field through civil justice reform. She understands that attracting and retaining businesses that support jobs for millions of Georgians requires a judiciary that follows the rule of law and refrains from legislating from the bench.”

Hanson will officially join GLR during the second week of February and will focus on building the GLR foundation and providing a strong impact for Georgians within the civil justice system.

The Chamber is thrilled to see how GLR continues to focus on a fair and balanced legal opportunity for all Georgia citizens. More information about Georgians for Lawsuit Reform is available here.
