Reminder: Career Clusters Survey
Last week, you should have received a request to complete a survey to help the Georgia Department of Education, in partnership with the Georgia business community, to reinvent the high school experience to ensure that students are prepared for success in whatever pathway they choose when they leave high school, whether it is post-secondary education, a career or the military. We are gathering input from the business community that will be used to guide the development of various pathways within 17 different career clusters. The new pathways will be implemented in the 2013-14 school year as required by state law, and students will select which pathway they will join based on their career interests. This is a major undertaking -- and it will not be successful without your input. Please have the appropriate person in your organization -- someone with a thorough understanding of your workforce needs, such as your human resources, recruiting or training personnel -- complete the survey that can be found HEREbefore Friday, August 24. If you have any questions or have difficulty accessing the survey, please contact UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government at survey@uga.edu or (706) 542-9404. Thank you once again for your support of the Chamber and education in Georgia.
