Georgia Chamber Business Champions Classic: October 8
The 2012 Georgia Chamber Business Champions Classic will be held on October 8 at The Atlanta Athletic Club, home of the 93rd PGA Championship, in Johns Creek. Georgia Grown Symposium Cultivates the Business of Food
Save the Date for the first Georgia Grown Symposium on November 8-9 in Macon. Focused on “Growing Your Business through Georgia Grown,” the two-day symposium at the Macon Marriott City Center will focus on the business of food as part of the state’s innovative Georgia Grown marketing program linking producers and consumers. Participants can choose among four tracks concentrating on finance, food safety, contracts and licensing, regulations, economic development and agritourism with workshops led by experts. Applications Now Being Taken for the Georgia Partnership Bus Trip Across Georgia
The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education has opened the application phase for the 20th Annual Bus Trip Across Georgia. There will be two 2-day trips this year, October 22-23 and 29-30, instead of the one 3-day format followed the last few years. Applications will be accepted for one or both tours. Specific site visitors are also asked to fill out an application annotating which stops they will attend. There is no cost to participate and all lodging and meals are provided by the Georgia Partnership. Specific details are provided in the online application form which can be found here. Underscoring the importance of the event to the business community is the participation of Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, who will serve as the Chairperson for the first trip. Clark explained that education is a key Chamber focus, “ensuring excellence in our schools is one of the most important keys to building a strong economy for our state. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of this year's Bus Trip Across Georgia and to visit some of the schools that are leading the way and setting an example for others to follow.”
