Background
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce seeks to maintain a harmonious balance in the relationship between employees and employers in our state. The Chamber works to ensure policies are created that benefit the employer-employee relationship and allow business to be competitive with their workforce.
The Chamber supports:
- Efforts to strengthen and protect Georgia’s “Right to Work” law and employment-at-will doctrine.
- Employees having appropriate information readily available to them regarding their rights and that their safety is protected during union organizing efforts or demonstrations.
- Continuing to make substantive changes to the worker’s compensation system that promote balance for employees and employers.
- Safe, healthy, and productive work environments, which are conducive to efficiencies, morale and speed-to-market.
- Legislation and policies that ensure a balanced and equitable system of handling claims for on the job injuries.
- Legislation that allows market force principles to work in the state’s economy.
- Free and fair trade agreements to expand worldwide market access to U.S. companies and their products.
- Efforts to promote rural economic development through education, training, infrastructure, and regional cooperation.
