On Tuesday, October 30th, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce will host its 4th Annual State of the Ports luncheon at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. With Georgia’s ports being tremendous economic powerhouses, the luncheon will feature a conversation with Governor Nathan Deal, Georgia Ports Authority Director Curtis Foltz, and Steve Larson, Vice President, Caterpillar Inc. and President of Caterpillar Logistics Inc. discussing the critical role Georgia’s transportation and logistics systems play in the state’s long-term economic development.
Prior to the State of the Ports Luncheon, the Georgia Transportation Alliance, an affiliate of the Georgia Chamber, will host a Transportation Roundtable Discussion from 10 – 11:30 am. The purpose of this roundtable is to gather transportation and political thought leaders and stake holders together to discuss openly in today’s post-TSPLOST environment the next steps in transportation strategy, where we go from here in state transportation planning and how we will get there. Georgia Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner Todd Long and Georgia Transportation Alliance Executive Director Doug Callaway will be among the speakers at this timely and topical Roundtable Discussion.
