Business Asks What Will 2008 Bring? We've Got Answers at Two Big Georgia Chamber Events. Last Call for Tickets.

With one turn of the calendar page, business faces the reality of a new year filled with uncertainties.  What happens in Georgia and in our nation over the next eleven months will likely have a profound impact on how we live and do business.  It's no time to be in the dark.  Thanks to two powerful events planned for Georgia Chamber members in January, you can begin 2008 more informed and better able to cope with the twists and turns that could pose stiff challenges to business this year and into the future.

The first focuses on Washington, D.C., where politics will increasingly influence legislation in the months leading up to the November elections when the nation chooses a new President, as well as members of Congress.  To shed some light on the inner workings of our nation's capitol and offer his own candid thoughts on what we can expect to happen inside the beltway during this period, the Georgia Chamber is pleased to welcome Tom Donohue, President & CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as our guest speaker at the Annual Meeting Dinner on Monday, January 14, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

At the helm of the U.S. Chamber for more than a decade, Donohue has re-shaped and revitalized this pioneer business organization and made it a major player. Donohue himself, though known as a straight talker, is none-the-less widely respected both on the Hill and by those in other organizations who generally disagree with his pro-business stand on the issues.

On Tuesday morning, January 15th, you can join more than 2,500 business and civic leaders from around the state, along with scores of elected officials, at the traditional Georgia Chamber Eggs & Issues Breakfast, which begins promptly at 7:30 a.m.  Headlining this annual newsmaker event will be Gov. Perdue, Lt. Gov. Cagle and House Speaker Richardson, making their final appearance before the gavel falls on a new session of the Georgia Legislature later that same morning.  Always lively and informative, the breakfast provides Georgia decision-makers with an inside look at how legislation will affect business in 2008 and beyond.

If you are in business, these are must-attend events you can't afford to miss.  Both take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta and there is still time to purchase tickets.
