The Georgia General Assembly approved legislation clarifying Georgia law regarding garnishment proceedings, stating that executing and filing of an answer to a garnishment order does not constitute the unauthorized practice of law, allowing businesses needed flexibility and cost savings. Governor Deal has already signed the measure - House Bill 683 - into law.
State Rep. Wendell Willard - author of HB 683 - spoke to the Georgia Chamber on the impact this new law will have on Georgia businesses.
