Exactly one month ago, a group of travelers ventured to South Africa for an unforgettable trip where they experienced all the authentic abundance of nature, culture, and sites that Africa has to offer. Through the Georgia Chamber’s travel abroad program, the group enjoyed a 12-day, 11-night trip of a lifetime.

Attendees experienced the urban and cultural mecca of Johannesburg and pushed their limits with wildly up-close encounters with lions, elephants, zebra, and monkeys at Kruger National Park.

“Meeting new friends on the road to discovery brings immediate camaraderie. Georgia is populated with wonderful, interesting people. Dining with friends while a velvet monkey stealthily snatches a morsel off a plate or dancing unabashedly at one of the wonders of the world is the best fellowship,” said trip attendee, Vickie Williamson.

After a taste of the city and the wild, we took our chamber explorers to the edge of the world to experience the wonders of Cape Town, where we embarked on mini-excursions to Table Mountain, Groot Constantia Winery, and Cape Peninsula.

Just in case the beauty of Cape Town didn’t leave our travelers speechless, we offered an extended option to Victoria Falls National Park, where we met one of the world’s largest waterfalls with a massive width of 5,604 foot and a drop of 354 feet!

“I would say that both safari rides and Victoria Falls were the highlights of the trip. I really enjoyed being out of an urban area,” said trip attendee, Chandler Haydon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible experience. If you’re interested in traveling with the Chamber, stay tuned for future trip announcements by visiting www.gachamber.com/international-travel/.
