Executive Leadership in 2019
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Sonny Deriso as 2019 Chairman of the Georgia Chamber. Deriso is also the newest member of the Georgia Chamber’s Executive Committee and brings many years of business leadership experience to the Chamber team.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve as 2019 Chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Being a member of the Board of Directors for over 20 years, this opportunity hits right at home. I plan to continue supporting the Chamber as we focus on the businesses from corner to corner around the state. Working closer with Chris as he focuses on bettering Georgians is most fulfilling,” said Deriso.
Deriso is Chairman and Director of Atlantic Capital Bancshares, Inc. and Atlanta Capital Bank in Atlanta. President and CEO of Atlantic Capital Bancshares, Inc., Douglas Williams, states, “Atlantic Capital is pleased that Sonny Deriso, its board chairman and one of Georgia’s most distinguished business leaders, has been elected chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce for 2019. We look forward to a productive year for the Georgia Chamber under Sonny’s leadership.”
Past President of Rotary Club Atlanta and District Governor, Blake McBurney, states, “After serving as President of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, Sonny served as Vice Chair and CFO of the Atlanta Host Committee for the 2017 Rotary International Convention. Sonny’s exceptional leadership was instrumental to the success of this 5-day event that welcomed over 35,000 Rotarians from 172 countries to Atlanta. Sonny is the essence of a servant leader and a genuine Southern gentleman.”
