Georgia Chamber Announces 2023 ‘Legislators of the Year’

Atlanta, GA – Today, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of its 2023 Legislator of the Year Awards. Each year, the executive committee of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Council (GAC) votes on three members of the Georgia General Assembly whose efforts focused on promoting economic development, job creation, and free enterprise.

One state Senate member, one state House member, and one freshman legislator are selected to receive the award. This year’s recipients are Senator Steve Gooch (Dahlonega), Representative Jan Jones (Milton), and Senator Shawn Still (Johns Creek).

Senator Steve Gooch said, “It’s an honor to receive this recognition from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Throughout my time in the state Senate, it has been my priority to ensure the well-being and prosperity of our state’s business community, and I look forward to my continued partnership with the Georgia Chamber in those efforts.”

“This legislative session, it was a privilege to work alongside the Georgia Chamber to promote the policies that have made Georgia the Best Place to Do Business for nine consecutive years,” said Representative Jan Jones. “I’m honored to be named the House Legislator of the Year, and I will continue to work with the Chamber to ensure our state retains that designation for years to come.”

Senator Shawn Still stated, “I’m proud to be recognized as a pro-business legislator during my first year in office. The Chamber was an invaluable asset to me throughout the session, and I look forward to continuing that partnership on behalf of Georgia’s business community.”

The Georgia Chamber congratulates this year’s award recipients and thanks them for their dedication to their constituents, the business community, and to our great state. For more information on the Chamber’s public affairs activity, visit www.gachamber.com.
