Georgia Chamber Supports Governor Kemp’s Appointment of Judge Pinson to Georgia Supreme Court

Atlanta, Georgia – February 15, 2022 – The Georgia Chamber of Commerce commends Governor Brian Kemp for his decision to appoint Judge Andrew Pinson to the Georgia Supreme Court, and thanks outgoing Chief Justice David Nahmias for his service on the state’s highest court. With Governor Kemp’s action he confirms the continuation of a strong judicial system for all citizens of our state.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce holds the rule of law as a foundational principle of civil society in Georgia. The Chamber also supports laws and regulations that are fair, transparent, coherent, and based on sound facts and policy.

Georgia Chamber President & CEO Chris Clark said of the appointment, “With his experience serving as Solicitor General in Attorney General Carr’s office, Justice Pinson is keenly aware of the challenges to Georgia businesses. We’re confident that he’ll continue the Court’s history of ensuring our state maintains a competitive climate for business and creates economic opportunities for all Georgians.”

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce continues to support efforts to protect and enhance our state’s judicial system. The Chamber contends that the judiciary should take a common-sense approach to interpreting laws as they have been written, without eroding existing laws imposing new causes of action on Georgia businesses.
