On Tuesday, August 15, the Georgia Chamber hosted their annual Congressional Luncheon at the Macon Marriott City Center with a sold-out crowd. Each year, the luncheon brings together over 2,000 business leaders, state and federal elected officials, and community champions from all regions of the state.
“Congressional Luncheon is an incredible opportunity to network with some of Georgia’s most prominent business and community leaders,” said Georgia Chamber President & CEO, Chris Clark. “Events like this are a constant reminder why the work we do is so important for all Georgians. Having these important conversations with statewide leaders in the room allows us to strategize and work together to keep Georgia the best state to live and work.”
Among other impressive speakers, such as Georgia Chamber endorsed Congresswoman Karen Handel, and U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, attendees also had the opportunity to hear from keynote speaker, Dr. Larry J. Sabato, as he gave an in-depth overview of the current political landscape in Washington.
“It was an honor to be the keynote speaker at the Georgia Chamber’s 2017 Congressional Luncheon,” said Dr. Larry J. Sabato. “I always tell people that my motto – as well as that of the UVA Center for Politics – is that “Politics Is a Good Thing!” Having a chance to speak to and take questions from such an engaged and knowledgeable audience has certainly reinforced that belief.”
Sponsors of the event included AT&T, Atlanta Gas Light, Georgia EMC, Georgia Power, GeorgiaCEO, Google, the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, and more.
