From the CEO
Statement
(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter.
Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber said:
“The business community mourns the passing of our friend, President Jimmy Carter. Few people will ever match his contributions to world peace, civil rights, and global public health or his inherent humility and servant heartedness."
“During his time as Governor he laid much of the groundwork for Georgia’s current economic success. Under Governor Carter’s leadership, Georgia established international economic development relationships that continue to enhance Georgia’s importance in the global marketplace, and he established the Georgia Film Commission in 1973 which helped make Georgia the number one state in the country for film and television production."
“While President Carter’s contributions to Georgia and the world are many, he would likely say his most worthy accomplishments were his devout faith in God, 77 years of loving marriage to Rosalyn, and being a devoted family man. The Georgia Chamber joins the Carter family and the entire world in mourning the loss of President Jimmy Carter.”
