SOCIAL CIRCLE – Today, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement after Rivian Inc. (Rivian) held the groundbreaking ceremony for its manufacturing facility in Social Circle. The site is Georgia’s second-largest economic development project and when complete, will be Rivian’s largest manufacturing facility. In July, Rivian announced plans to expand its presence in Georgia by opening a new East Coast Headquarters in Atlanta.

Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber said:

“The Georgia Chamber congratulates everyone who helped make today possible including Governor Brian Kemp; Jerry Silvio, Chairman of the Joint Development Authority of Jasper, Morgan, Newton & Walton Counties; Pat Wilson, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development; and all our partners across the state.

“Rivian’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Stanton Springs North will further cement Georgia’s position as the unquestioned leader in advanced manufacturing. Once complete, thousands of Georgians will work here, building the cars that consumers want to drive while generating millions of dollars in economic activity. Long-term relationships are the foundation of Georgia’s economic success. With shovels now in the ground, Rivian and the State of Georgia are ready to keep building on our strong partnership and continue making generational investments in our innovation-driven economy.”
