ATLANTA – Today, the Georgia Chamber issued the following statement after Governor Brian Kemp outlined the need for lawsuit reform in his State of the State address.

Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber said:
“Georgia’s imbalanced civil justice system threatens Georgia’s economic competitiveness and our long-term prosperity. That’s why the Georgia business community has worked for 25 years to restore balance to our civil courts, and we thank Governor Brian Kemp for his strong leadership to secure lawsuit reform. We look forward to partnering with the Georgia General Assembly to pass common sense lawsuit reform so we can do what is right for Georgia’s businesses and citizens by ensuring our courts are for justice—not jackpots.”

At the 2025 Georgia Chamber Eggs & Issues Breakfast on January 14, Governor Kemp announced passing lawsuit reform is his “top legislative priority for the upcoming session.”
