Press Release
In keeping with its desire to expand innovation and entrepreneurship across the state, the Georgia Chamber is set to host the inaugural Georgia InVenture Prize competition on April 3-4, 2019. This competition will be an annual event that highlights Georgia’s innovation ecosystem and its high-potential, ambitious and growth-oriented student entrepreneurs.
In order to participate in the Georgia InVenture Prize, teams will be chosen by their respective colleges, with one team representing each school. The teams will present their unique business solution to judges in a statewide competition, ending in the finalists’ presentation to judges and audience members during a live televised event at Georgia Public Broadcasting Studios.
After the event, varying awards will be given to students, including a grand prize of $25,000 for an individual or team to further the development of their invention. Other prizes include cash, grants, scholarships or in-kind services such as legal assistance for U.S. patent filings, professional accounting services or acceptance into business accelerator programs. The winning team will also receive the coveted “InVenture Cup” to proudly display on their campus for the year.
Through the Georgia InVenture Prize, local businesses and individuals in the community are encouraged to support the teams.
