Statement on the Passing of Former Georgia Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dr. J. David Allen 

ATLANTA – Today, Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement on the passing of Dr. J David Allen who served as Chairman of the Georgia Chamber in 2007.

Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber said:

“Dr. Allen was an outstanding businessman who fostered economic development in every part of Georgia. Dr. Allen’s business expertise made him a highly sought-after leader, and he led organizations that reflected his numerous professional and personal passions. The Georgia Chamber benefited from his tenure as chairman, which helped lay the groundwork for Georgia’s current record-breaking economic prosperity. More importantly, David Allen was my friend and mentor. He was a cheerleader for the Georgia Chamber, economic development and conservation! His enthusiasm was contagious and he loved to connect people. The entire business community thanks Dr. Allen for his lifetime of service, and are heartbroken for this loss. Simply, David made Georgia better. ”
