Jewell H Gooding MBA, MA, NCC is the Executive Director at Mental Health America of Georgia, which is an education, advocacy and outreach organization dedicated to the promotion of mental wellness. She is a National Certified Counselor with over 15 years’experience in mental health services and supports. She has worked with a variety of population’s during that time but has been passionate about supporting families to empower their children. In her previous role, she served as the Program Development Manager for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities to provide oversight of the implementation of high quality programs for children, young adults and theirfamilies. She was instrumental in working with providers to support adolescents as they transition into adulthood in order to improve long term outcomes for youth with serious emotional disturbances. Mrs. Gooding believes in the equity of individuals with lived experience and strives to eliminate stigma by increasing knowledge of mental health. She received her BS in Psychology fromTennessee State University, MA in Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University and her MBA from the University of GA. Mrs. Gooding invest her time in her three boys to build leaders for the next generation.
