A native of Valdosta, Zoe Myers earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Sociology from Valdosta State University and is a graduate of the Fanning Leadership Institute. She has served as Executive Director of Cook County Family Connection for the past twenty years and is a recipient of the statewide Family Connection Collaborative Achievement award. In this position, she has built a strong nonprofit collaborative with over sixty local and regional partners and has secured millions of dollars for rural projects through federal, state, and private grants.

Zoe also is recognized as an accomplished teacher and trainer and served as an adjunct professor at Valdosta State University teaching graduate courses in Sociology and Community Development. Because of her accomplishments in teaching and community collaboration, Zoe was a 2011 recipient of the Valdosta State University Distinguished Alumni Award. She has conducted hundreds of seminars and training workshops for regional and state organizations on topics including grant writing, nonprofit capacity development, empowering and mobilizing leaders, and the art and science of collaboration. In addition to her work with Cook County Family Connection, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the South Georgia Nonprofit Network, a regional consortium of diverse nonprofit organizations.
