Through our annual statewide tours, our President & CEO, Chris Clark, has been able to not only share futuristic information and data with communities, but he has also sparked a critical conversation around improving rural prosperity.

“From growing up in Hawkinsville, to attending college at Georgia Southern University, I’ve seen firsthand the desire for improving the quality of life for our friends in rural Georgia,” said Clark. “It’s time to switch our focus from big cities like Atlanta and Savannah to smaller communities, specifically in South Georgia. If we want to remain the number one state to live, work, and do business, we’ve got to start looking at the bigger picture and the entirety of our state.”

Because of the positive feedback and interest from community and business leaders, prominent statewide officials, small and large business owners, and our incredible membership, we have launched our first Rural Prosperity Summit. The two-day summit will offer attendees an opportunity to share new ideas, make connections, and much more, all revolving around improving rural prosperity in Georgia.

The event will take place on November 29-30, 2017, at the University of Georgia’s Conference Center in Tifton. The agenda will address topics relevant to today’s challenges and opportunities in rural parts of Georgia including: homegrown entrepreneurship, talent and leadership development and retention, healthcare, and other critical areas. Stay tuned for special guest and keynote speaker announcements.

You will be notified once registration has officially opened for this event. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Morgan Law at mlaw@gachamber.com.

We hope you’ll attend and join our continuous efforts in promoting rural prosperity for all Georgians.
