Government Affairs Council

The Government Affairs Council (GAC) is made up of over 400 government affairs professionals representing companies throughout our state, with the overarching goal of striving to achieve the policy objectives of the Georgia Chamber.

Benefits of joining the GAC include networking with other lobbyists and legislators at GAC signature events, participating in a coalition dedicated to advancing pro-business principles and opportunities in Georgia, staying abreast of a wide range of issues during Legislative Session, and much more!

The GAC has ten standing committees — Business & Industry, Compliance, Economic Development & Taxation, Education, Environment & Energy, Federal Affairs, Health & Wellness, Law & Judiciary, Tourism & Travel, and Transportation — and ten committee Chairs and Vice Chairs, which work much the same way as committees in the State Legislature. As issues arise, they are assigned to committee for review and subsequent recommendation to the GAC Executive Committee. Guided by the Georgia Chamber's adopted policy positions, a motion to support or oppose is then made to the full GAC.

All Georgia Chamber members are eligible to participate in the GAC. Those investing below the Cornerstone level must remit an annual dues payment, or Chamber PAC contribution, in the amount of $500.00 in order to participate in the GAC. If you're interested in becoming a member of the GAC, please contact Sara Camuso at scamuso@gachamber.com today!
