It’s official – summer has drawn to an end, and we’re dedicating our last and final Summer Series to our aquatic friends at the Georgia Aquarium! Notable for being the largest aquarium in the world, the Georgia Aquarium is over 550,000 square feet, holds more than 10 million gallons of water, and is home to thousands of fish. From the famous beluga whale to the enormous whale shark (the largest fish in the world), get up close and personal with some of the world’s most iconic species!

You’re sure to have a whale of a time – no pun intended – at the Aquarium’s monthly events for attendees of all ages. For those 21 and older, consider spending your next night out at ‘Sips Under the Sea,’ a unique after-hours cocktail party for adults to enjoy signature drinks, music, and delicious small plates while exploring the Aquarium. For the little ones, the Aquarium hosts fun and educational adventures such as ‘Me & Mommy’ and ‘Toddler Time: Turtle Time.’ Check out all the Aquarium’s upcoming events by clicking here.

If you’re searching for your next bucket list item, look no further – journey with gentle giants of the sea through the Georgia Aquarium’s personal animal interaction. Suit up and swim alongside thousands of amazing animals for the experience of a lifetime, or stand waist-deep in the beluga whale habitat for an interactive session with these adorable creatures.

Hours of operation for the Aquarium vary, though it is open 365 days a year. For more information on planning your next visit, click here. The Georgia Chamber and Georgia Travel Association are proud to have the Georgia Aquarium as an involved member, and continue to support their educational programs, community outreach, and research efforts.
