Georgia Chamber Statement on Rivian R2 Model Announcement

“The Georgia Chamber remains confident in both Rivian and the viability of the Stanton Springs North site. The economy is going through a dramatic technological transformation with robotics, artificial intelligence, and the electrification of transportation. Innovation, while positive, is disruptive to the status quo and demands flexibility as we take a long-term approach to our state’s future economic success.

Rivian has reiterated its commitment to Georgia and is simply expanding its timeline. Rivian still plans to be operational within the period outlined in the economic development agreement which includes some of the strongest taxpayer protections of any project in the country.”
